Ease of oil change ?

Anyone have one of these on their engine? Certainly looks like it would be very handy, guess in the back of my mind never having used one I think what if it whereat open driving down the road ? Looking to hear some feed back, your thoughts, good or bad.

I have used them on my family vehicles as well as all my race cars for years. They work great. They do make a locking clip if you are worried about the valve opening on its own, but I have never had one do that even after some off-track excursions.

Hello Joe, hope you are doing well brother. I have used the Fumoto valves on my last two diesel pick-ups and really liked them. Made that part of the maintenance much easier and a little less messy. Neither of the ones I have installed and any problems in regards to leaks or anything. I plan to eventually put one on the Berk (assuming the correct one is available). -Glenn

i agree. Have used them on both of my RVs for years. Never open...in fact, hard to open unless you do it just right, which is a safety. get the one that has a connection for a plastic hose. On my previous coach, the oil pan drain was right above the front suspension and there was no way to get a drain pan situated without a lot of splatter.

Fumoto fixed all of that...and more. Oil changes are pretty easy after that.

We have used them on all of our vehicles and the FR3 and it makes oil changes a little easier. Especially if you want to drain the oil hot. Nice not having to wait for it to cool down too much. Never any issues with them.

Installed it on both of my Berks and have not had any issues with them. IMHO- They work great and are worth using.

Hi Tom,

Did you get the one with a nipple to attach hose? There is a note that says not to use for low ground clearance, don't think we have that issue.

Yes. Both had the nipple and did not have an issue with it at all. Before using the valve, it always seemed that I was going in and out from under the coach at least twice trying to get the correct wrench size(LOL!!). Now I don't have that problem. As I said, it works great.

Tom do you remember what thread size you used and wether straight or 90* angle? Just want to double check from someone that used it on our rigs.

Sorry, I don't remember the thread size. It's been a while since I purchased it. Doesn't their web site give you any information as to which one fits?

I have one of these on my Georgetown and have used them for years.
If your concerned about them coming open, Keep in mind that my Cessna airplane have these and come from the factory installed

Another long time Fumoto Valve user here. I have always used the version with the nipple for attaching a hose but haven't ever actually had a need to use that feature.

I use the one with nipple and put a small Hose into drain pan, just keeps cleanup easier.

I change my oil outside in front of the shop and if the wind is blowing created a little problem so using the host to the drain pan works for me.

This is basically the same thing as the Fumoto valve just made by a different company.

Well rec'd. my EZ-124 : 10mm-1.25 | EZ Oil Drain Valve today and after looking at it I'm going to send it back. Looks nice but the outlet drain is the size of a straw. Four and a half gals. draining through a straw, no, I'll stick to the old fashion way and just remove the drain plug once a year.

Did not mean to mislead. For my V10 I installed
EZ Oil Drain Valve - EZ-106 : 14mm-1.5. Check with the Co. To confirm size.

In my experience, it really doesn't take much longer to drain the oil with the Fumoto valve.

I for one do it the old fashion way I have someone do it for me. Like Freightliner.
