Electrical outlet while driving
I have a 2011 Berkshire 390bh. I was told when I bought the coach that at least one of the outlets was hot while driving. Does anyone know what outlet this could be? I think I've tried them all and can't find any that are functional while driving. Any suggestions?

none will be hot unless you have an inverter, the generator running, or connected to shore power. Sounds like another uninformed salesmans mouth running.

Are you asking about 12 Volt outlets or 110 outlets?

Silly question- do you have the inverter on? If so, I believe most of the outlets will be hot.

I know that the red main power light by the front door goes out as soon as you start the unit. I was told one of the outlets would be hot, but I can't find that outlet. Leaving for Disney on Monday and will require lots of recharging along the way, while driving. Help?!?

For us to help you out, help us out..! Answer this question: Do you need 12volts while driving or 120volts? If it is 120volts, then a previous poster already said it: Turn on the generator or invertor(if you have one), ALL outlets will be functional accept the one that the living area TV is plugged in to. If you need 12volts while driving, the outlets on the dash should be functional ALL the time.

I really do not want to drive with the Generator on unless I have too. And I don't believe I can control the inverter WRT the outlets once the coach is running, right?

control the inverter WRT??
If you are going to Florida you will probably be running the generator so that you can put the roof air conditioners on. The dash air won't do much of anything to cool the back of the coach. Running the generator will use about 1/2 gal of fuel per hour.

We drove from Colorado to Florida and back during the first two weeks of June. We had 9 people in the coach on the way down and 7 on the way back. We had to run the gen to power the two a/c's. The front a/c in the cockpit area just isn't enough to cool the whole coach given the heat and humidity in the south. We also ran it at night when stopped at walmart and rest areas as it would have been too hot to sleep comfortably. I haven't done the math yet, but the 1/2 gallon per hour sounds reasonable. I put 100.5 hours in the gen in that timeframe.

In my 2011 Berkshire 309RB-60 the only available outlet supplied by the Inverter is the outlet located in the 1/2 bath.

On my 2010 390bh the outlet in the bunk area works because my son plays Xbox. I had hoped the outlets next to the front seats would work, but they don't. We usually run with the generator because it burns so little fuel.

Well the only one I found that works is the one under the TV. And with the slide in, we have to use an extention cord with the door cracked. I had hoped more were set up to utilize, especially the ones behind the seats, but no go. Bad design on BH's part.

Suggestion, with no shore power and generator off, turn on the inverter and walk around and try a night light in the outlets and either lable or mark the outlets that have power.

We have a 2011 Berkshire 390BH. With the inverter turned on, the outlets in each bunk work as well as the two outlets above the 'dresser' in the bedroom (which means the bedroom TV works). In essence, all the 110 outlets in the wardrobe slide. The outlet in the compartment under the main TV works as well (so the main TV has power) which powers the electronics so people can watch DVDs in the bedroom. But then you have the issue of gaining access to the comparment while the slide is in. We tried one time simply removing the door for one of our longer trips but whatever we had in there would slide out when slowing down/stopping.

Without the generator running(powers all the outlets) the bunks and the entertainment area plugs work. I wish the plugs next to the driver and passenger worked, but they don't.
