Engine Start when Parked

I have a 2012 Berkshire 360-FWS, and as an obvious safety measure, I cannot start the coach when one or more of the slides are extended. I am now parked in a warm winter location for three months. I haven't stayed this long in one place before. I would like to start the engine once every 30 days or so, to make sure all is well with the engine and chassis, and to make sure I don't have any surprises when it come time to leave.
Is there a way to start the coach, without having to bring all the slides in and undo all of our unpacking?
I am not looking to disconnect any wires, or do any disassembly of electrical or mechanical systems. Just looking for a way, if possible, to start the coach without bringing all the slides back in. Is that possible, or not?

Interesting question, I'm not sure of a way to do what you are asking, but I'm interested in the answer.

It's odd that FR decided to wire up this way, other manufacturers such as Tiffin need the engine running or at least have the ignition key on to operate their slides.

Seems backward to me. Typically, the slides are not able to be extended with the engine running, the "obvious safety measure" (levelers might be cited as to have the engine running for extension). I don't have a Berkshire but does seem odd to me. My GT378 operates per this evaluation.

My 2014 Berk will start with the slides out. I've done it plenty of times. I'm wondering if yours is wired incorrectly or maybe they stopped wiring them like that on the newer ones.

After reading Jason's post I had to try it. I'm sitting in my drive way with slides out and jacks down. My engine started right up. So you should have no problem starting yours hawk.

Mine is set up like hawk10eye. On the trip home to Tennessee after purchasing it at Lazy Days in Tampa we overnighted at Walmart in Valdasta, GA. We extended the bed slide that night but didn't bother to extend the wardrobe slide. It was in February of 2013 and the next morning it was cold in the motorhome. Being totally new to all of this I couldn't get the generator to start to use the heat pump and didn't know at the time I could have used the furnaces without the generator. So I figured I would start the engine and use the cab heat to warm us up. Well it wouldn't start with the bed slide extended. Had to bring it in to get the engine to start.

Mine was built in late summer of 2012 so maybe they have changed things since.

That's also odd edgewant, I have a 2013 and mine starts with slides out. But mine does not slide out with the engine running. Go figure lol

I was at Midway RV in Grand Rapids Michigan and the had two 2015 Dutch Star tag axel MH. I was shocked to see them driving around the lot with all the slides extended. That can't be good.

Yep strange things that dealers do. I'll attach a picture of a coach I saw on dealer lot. Was so far over on it side with slide out (no jacks down) was touching the ground!!Click image for larger version

X4, my 2012 will start with the slides out and even the jacks down. Make sure that your parking brake is set and in Neutral.

hawkeye,

My 2014 Berk 390BH-60 will both start and can be driven with slides out. I know because my house batteries were dead and my wardrobe slide was out and I had to drive it 5 miles to an RV service center. Everything worked. You should have no problem.
