Entertainment window

The tinted plexiglass window for I'm sure every model, is designed to allow the infrared signal from the remotes to penetrate, correct? Mine don't and I have to keep the door open to operate. Any thoughts on this?

Never had an issue, is your receiver centered and raised up so it's IR receiver point is actually within the glass section? I keep my DirecTV receiver on a small box so it sits higher up.

I did that too because I noticed it was sitting low, still didn't work...is it possible they put wrong type of glass in, or should it work with any glass?

I'd think that they don't have any "wrong type" glass in stock ??

I wouldn't think so either Russell, just trying to figure out why mine doesn't work. I have to take out my Blu ray player and set it on the cabinet to control it...very tacky.

It's possible that they got some Low E glass, or metalized film tinted glass by mistake.
I'd think if that was the case that we'd be hearing more complaints about it though.

You can buy an Infrared Detector Card for a few dollars and test it yourself if you want to know.

Our unit falls into the "I cant use the remote without the door open" box. It has been that way since new when it had all the stock AV equipment. I have since upgraded everything but the glass will not let the IR signal pass through it. I plan to replace the glass with something else, I just have not done it yet.

Switch your receiver to a Genie with RF. I have 3 remotes; main, bedroom & outside. With RF there's never an issue 👍

I switched to RF as soon as I got the coach and upgraded the components. I wanted to control it from bed in the back. Also, mine produces quite a bit of heat and I keep it open. I may swap the "glass" out with some speaker material to let it breath.

Did you try fresh batteries in the remote. If batteries are low, signal will be weak.
