Entry step on 2015 Berk XL

Am I the only one out here that thinks the entry step the way it protrudes beyond the side of the coach is not right? I have not taken possession of my first Berk yet but think it might be a curb finder.

That looks perfectly normal to me. The Lippert steps all look that way on every Berkshire I have seen.
Good lick with your new MH

Step

I have had 5 motorhomes to date and I am picking up a new one Friday and I have not seen a step protrude like that. Installation problem or I have seen this happen were the step does not retract fully from a weak battery.

My Berk's step is the same too. All of the Berk's I've seen also look like that. Perfectly normal on the Berk's. I've never had an issue with it getting close to anything.

Mine is like that also. It is a curb feeler. Mine felt the curb while I was going through a toll booth.

The position of the step should be the worst of your worries... The step design should be number 1. I am now on step number 4 on out 2012 Berkeley 30

Sorry hit send by mistake ... on 4th step since 2012. If you follow this forum you will notice that the step and the on demand hot water are two of the most common complaints.

Good luck.

My point exactly especially toll booths. Seems like they barely give enough room for mirrors and then they put a step design like this. Even before signing I questioned the installation to the dealer they looked at me like I had a 3rd eye and that I was the first to question it. Since I live 10 miles from plant guess I need to pay a visit with them.
Also I am not a huge fan of Lippert so I understand and greatly concerned with the failure issues reported herein.

Mine is like that. I never questioned it, but would be curious as to what is said when you go to the plant.

Going through the toll booths near Elkhart I was watching the curbs real close.
Until I almost knocked one of the mirrors off.

The higher than normal Berkshire mirrors are a problem in the local toll booths.

I never have worried about the curbs in other places.

Mine is the same and I did hit it on a toll booth in Galveston TX. It sounded like it ripped the side off the MH but only ripped the carpet cover. I have never been so relieved when I found a place to pull over. I wish went in further.
