External Propane?

Could the propane accessory connection be used "backwards" to connect an external propane bottle?

Camping semi-long term, in cold weather, means using up propane!

I don't think so. Seems that would be on the wrong side of the regulator.

I don't see the harm in it provided that the larger tank you were temporarily connecting had a correct regulator.

The connections would need to be made up (Not available commercially) & I doubt any propane installer would do it. And a regulator would be needed.
I would not try it myself........

Oaklevel,
Sweet Mustang! Pic's small but looks like a 65? I had 3 65's, one of each body style a few years ago.

You can get an Extend -a-Stay kit and use a 20/30 lb. bottle. It ties into the line before your regulator for the coach. I installed one on mine for when we are in one place for longer than a week. Easy to throw empty bottle in car and refill. I just make sure I have 3/4 tank load in coach before we stop.

Another Alternative from Camco. This setup also includes a 12' LP hose so you can hook up another gas appliance:

extend a stay

did you all take the current fitting out and add the extend a stay, or add the extend a stay onto the original fitting.

I put mine between the regulator and tank no problem, no adapter.

The park I'm stay the winter in provides a large external tank. They also disconnect my tank so I'm running strictly on their external tank. Works great, and they come around to do refills too
