Fan power supply

None of my vent fans are working. Dining Area, 1/2 bath or Rear Bath. Is there a single power source? I have checked the fuses labeled lights/vents, there are two of them labeled like that. The fuses are ok. There isn't any power at the wires coming into the vents. I have 3 diff. types of fans in the vents.
Any and all input would be appreciated.

The Max Aire brand of fan vent has a twist-off fuse cap close to the on-board switch that you turn to get the fan turned on.

Are you saying that you have voltage checked the two wires coming into the fans and are getting 0 volts?

If so then the fans are not at fault, as they need 12 VDC fed to them to operate...

Is your 12 VDC battery hooked up?

On my 2013 390RB there are two separate fuses for the kitchen vent and bath vent.

Some vent fans will not work unless the vent is open at least 1/2 way. They have a microswitch/plunger switch that cuts power to the motor.

Edgewant: Mine also has two fuses same as yours. Checked the fuses at both fans and at fuse box with guage to ensure continuity.
Scrapper: One of my vents is similar. Vent is open. Even bipassed switch and it still doesn't work.
rsdata: zero power at inlet wires.

Are you plugged into shore power or is your battery fully charged?

Do you have 12V at fuse panel for the two fan circuits?

Battery disconnect somewhere on unit disconnecting 12V?

What make, model and year is your rig?
Have the fans ever worked?

EDIT: Saw the rig in your signature... Sorry.

yes this is the next thing... do you know where your battery disconnect switch is?

is anything working that is 12 V? like the radio? electric awning?

If not then the battery disconnect switch is OFF...

12 volt at fuses. We are the first retail owners of this unit. I have made a call to the dealer where we bought the unit to make them aware that the fan doesn't work. I don't expect that I am going back to the dealer anytime soon as we are leaving next week for the winter. The fuse is labelled lights/vent. The bathroom and living room lights work. My next step is to take the light down and see if the feed for the fan is from the light and somehow became disconnected. I will continue to troubleshoot until I can figure out what is going on. I am not sure if all the fans worked or not as we have only spent a weekend in the motorhome since we go it.

BuckW: Good luck.
I replaced my half bath and rear bath fans shortly after we purchased ours. Went with the fantastic fans with remote control since my wife is only 5 ft and can’t reach the fan. Don’t remember much about the wiring at the fan but sounds like a wiring problem. Hope you enjoy your motorhome. We certainly love ours.

The fuses may look good, but verify they are passing current.

Disconnect switch on "use". Awning, radio, etc. works. Vent fans only thing that doesn't. Checked continuity on fuses with tester. Changed them to make sure.

Might be what happened. We noticed that the living room/kitchen lights have all been changed to LED's. Bath lights are bulbs. Don't know if dealer changed or factory. Once I figure how to take the bath lights down I will check the wiring. Removing the screws isn't the answer to removing the lights. Must be something else holding the light to the ceiling. I will figure it out over the winter months when I am not playing golf or drinking beer. lol

Buck your cabin lights came as LED’s. I’m sorry but did you say the fan has never worked? I have a RB model and I have a fuse for each fan 3 total. I don’t know if they still use them but my back fan has a thermostat. Also the half bath has a wall switch. Again mine is a 2011 and could be different. It’s extremely unlikely that all three fans were not hooked up or that they all went bad at the same time. Also I can’t believe you can’t tell a blown fuse so that’s not it either. So what does that leave? I have no idea. Lol. I guess I would make a call to the service manager at the dealer and see if he has any ideas. When I am stuck (I’m often stuck) I start over. Go through everything again. Maybe you will see it the second time.

zuckerburg: Thanks for the input. I know that there are two fuses, one for the dining area/vent and the other for the rear bath/lights. I will look for another one. But, that is the strange part....all the vent fans don't work. This past week is the first time I have attempted to use them. We have only spent 2 nights in the coach just to make sure everything works and get familiar with the coach before we head south.
Everythiing in the coach is new and unused. We filled in all the warranty papers for all the coach incl. FL warranty card the first week we bought it in Sept. Although the coach is a 2014 it has only been used as a demo on the lot. I have bought the fan problem to the dealer but as it is quite a distance away from our home I don't expect I will be seeing them before we leave on the 4th Nov.
I am going to try to contact FR in Indiana and see if we can stop in on our way down for them to take a look.
