The insurance issue was our main reason for getting the R endorsement. That said, we did have a minor mishap prior to obtaining the endorsement and the insurance company did not make an issue of it. Even though a minor mishap in a motorhome can still cost 10 grand to fix!

That is because you insure the vehicle not the driver. Insurance companies like you to believe it is the driver that is insured but the law reads it is the vehicle.
