3x But, marking your mirrors helps those who do not have thousands of miles behind the wheel of a truck. But like stated the mirror marks only work for one size person. If someone moves the seat they will be off.

Put the alignment tape on the front window, not the mirror

I've put a small strip of black tape on my front window, which shows me where the right edge of the wheels will go. It saves me from having to look over to the mirror to check how close I am to the edge.

Having said that, I used it mainly while new to driving my rig. I've got a pretty good feel for the location of the right wheel, and find myself not using the tape very much any more.

I just finished a drive through Northern Ontario and Manitoba where the shoulders are gravel. In Manitoba, there is only about 4" of pavement (often crumbled) beyond the white line and it makes the drive a lot less comfortable when driving beside or passing a truck with a very narrow lane and a cross wind. But, I didn't find myself using my alignment tape very much.
