Fluid level for slides

I know this is probably dumb but when do you check fluid level for slides - when slides are in or when slides are out??

In is the best option !
you don't want to check and fill when there open

Ernest917,

Check while in (only need the front two in - the back two are electrically operated). Also make sure that the leveling jacks are retracted. All 4 leveling Jacks are Hydraulic. When the Berkshire Factory originally filled the Hydraulic Reservoirs, they only filled them half way. The Manufacture (Equalizer Systems) says that the Reservoir needs to be filled within an inch of the top.
