None of the wood was glued and only held together with staples.

A lot of work and you will still have a POS. I like the Lazy Boy fix that someone just did. Lazy Boy is nice because most of their chairs and couches the backs come off. It's very easy to get them in the door.

I did like that idea, but I like the fold out bed. $650 estimate for a furniture repair shop to rebuild.

You should be able to find one with a sleeper. We had one years ago. Also check out American Leather furniture. We have one in a condo we own. It folds out to a Tempur-pedic bed. No rail or anything. Sleeps as good as a regular bed. Down side is they are not cheap. We found one at a Thrift Store. Got it pretty cheap.

Mike-

I had the same issue with my pull out not too longer after we took delivery. I bought some wood glue and small clamps at Lowes. 2 years like this and so far so good. Bed closes up with the clamps on. I never have to take them off. Better than $650 for a re-build.

Good luck. Hope it works out.

Mike

$48 dollars in new poplar, and rebuilt the frame myself! Saved $650.
