Look in your storage bay. That is where they put them from forest river and usually the dealer puts it on. They may have forgotten and it's still in your bay.

JTN8, I did, in fact I remember looking in all of them during pdi thinking to myself the since the Mudguard was not in storage it must be installed. Then forgot to check to see if it was.

It looks like another thing that FR deleted from their new models. If you look at the Forest River website (Forestriverinc.com) and look at the brochure for the 400bh, there is no mud flap shown on the rear view of the coach. Every new model year has items from the previous year deleted and of course, the price goes up. In my old Berkshire, I had 2 switches above the light switches in the bathroom- one would electrically raise and lower the vent cover and the other turned the vent fan on and off. Now I must get on a step to crank the vent open and push a button on the vent to turn the fan on. Then, when done, reverse the procedure. They also deleted the map lights that were next to the driver and passenger. They also deleted the switches next to the passenger seat that could raise or lower the sun shade and night shade. Pretty soon we'll just be getting a shell for a coach and will have to furnish the inside ourselves- like buying a new house.

TMMR, unfortunately that is probably the story with the mudflap. I will confirm on Monday.

Ernest,
My previous coach was an '08 and I had all the items that I mentioned earlier as being deleted from my new coach. Like I said earlier, they keep deleting things and charging more.

I have never seen the 08's. I'm sure I paid a lot more for mine than yours. You bought yours during a major economic crisis and I'm sure you got a get price. I'm happy with the items they do have now, upgraded interior, paint, residential fridge, inverter, etc.

As long as we are all happy with our purchase and the price we paid I'm not going to complain. If the mud flap is not included, not a big deal and wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. Those switches sound nice for the fan in the bathroom. Maybe I'll look at doing that mod myself.

Tom ....

Makes that 2008 look better now doesn't it.... lol... Just kidding... Does make me wonder why they take it upon themselves to delete simple thing like map lights, power vent switches, mud flaps..... I know it ends up being a $$$$ thing for FR but savvy consumers notice these things....

Ernest,
I'm sure that the wiring harness has the plugs for things like the map lights and bathroom vent switches so how much could it cost to keep these items. Probably not much. If they said it would cost a few bucks more to keep them I surely would have paid the money but you don't know that they have been deleted until you use the coach for a while and realize that they are missing. Another thing is that the brochure that was online when I bought my '14 was for the '12 coach so you don't know what's been deleted until you, as I said, use the coach. Not really something that you look for during the PDI. Also, they changed the water filter and you can't buy the replacement cartridge from anyone else but FR at 30 bucks a pop. On your '08 you can get replacement cartridges at Home Depot or Lowes for much less.
Oh well. Not much you can do unless you really check each and every item installed in the new coach and the old coach.

All those small features would be really nice. They all sound like very practical and very useful. Those should be pretty standard on the price point these berks go for. Oh well. Enjoy

I took my mudflap off my 2014 that I just bought because to get my motor home in my driveway the tail extends over my neighbors yard and if I leave it on there it digs into my neighbors grass. I will already be buying my neighbor some new sod this spring.

Don't know where you're located but if you're close you could come right over and get it off my back porch and we would both be happy.

The thing is that they deleted the window I had in the bathroom and over the kitchen sink so you would think that they could keep these small features and not really lose any money.

Thanks for the offer. I'm in Youngstown Ohio. I don't know how much I really need it. I would probably have to take it off mine when I pull into/out off my driveway. It would be nice when towing my boat or toad.

I'm in Kansas City so that might be a little drive for you. That sucker is heavy too. I agree it would be nice to have on the road but I want no part of taking it off and putting it back on. My plan is for my brother to come get it and take it to the crusher with a bunch of other metal he has eventually but for now the geese will just have to enjoy looking at it on my back porch.

Lol. I hear ya. Thanks for letting me know about it. Is you 2014 a 390 or 400? I can see your signature because I'm on my phone instead of my PC.

It's a 390RB. I am on my phone too so I can't see anything. Of course it doesn't help that I'm not very tech smart.
