Fort Wilderness week of Labor Day. Anyone?

Looks like we're going to go "pay the mouse" one more time this season. Going to arrive just as the Labor Day weekenders are finishing up. (Sept 6-12.) Any other Berkshires planning for that week?

Doesn't sound like it. It should be a good week to be there. I would think the crowds should be small as the kids are back to school. Were you able to get last minute reservations or have you had them.

Booked a few weeks ago. Low season rates plus discount for annual pass holders. Crowd levels 1 and 2 all week. Some scattered rain in forecast so extra nap day at some point

We went January 2 this year. Christmas to New Year's Eve is one of the busiest weeks at WDW. We skated in just behind that. Day 1 we mainly went to the pool then went into the parks later. That's not uncommon for us, actually. This is our third trip on our Annual Pass, and most likely our last unless we hit the week after Thanksgiving (another quiet week.) The cable internet works well; I leave a router in the RV and run their cable modem into that. (Plug it into a LAN port on your router, not the WAN) This sets up wireless in the RV. They have a digital cable box available as well, but if your TVs have digital tuners you can leave that in the storage bag.

Well, the RV should already be in the driveway (it's not,) which tells me "Packing" is going to be a vague reference to what we actually do, but we're wheels up Saturday and in FW on Sunday evening.

Phil57: As FL residents and Disney annual pass holders, I can confidently tell you that school having started will have no impact on the crowds. With all the folks home schooling, the foreign visitors and the folks who are just plain willing to yank the kids out of school to go to WDW, the crowds are just as big. Personally, I thought the same thing as you until I experienced it and I still continue to marvel at the number of kids out there every day of the week!

Good to know. We don't do the Disney thing often.

When I lived in Jacksonville, I had the FL state resident's annual pass for several years. Because of that, I don't care if I ever see it again.

The best attraction for me, BTW, is the electric light parade on the lake every night!!

And also, Monday is typically the least busy day of the week. This from WDW's' own "fact sheet"

Boowho??

To say "crowds just as big" is a bit of stretch. Disney is never empty but density of bodies and lines that can vary from 10 mins to 2 hrs hold a lot of bodies. Touringplans.com has great statistical data and they do a great job at predicting overall crowd level [well worth the $12 or whatever a years subscription is. Crowd levels this week are mostly 1s and 2s out of 10 (you dont want to see 10.) 1 doesnt mean empty but you will be able to do a lot more. This is reinforced by off season room and FW site rates. I am paying 1/2 what I paid in Jan and March. Anyway, pay the mouse and come on down

With either the official disney app or the touringplans app, you dont have to be there to know how long the lines are on a given day. You get realtime feedback on your phone from anywhere. For example, here is whats going on right now

600 loop all week. A bit soggy here but I was fine with flopping on the bed anyway.

I can't speak about "recent" history, but I know that 15 yrs ago or so, October was usually the slowest time for WDW. Maybe February, too?
