I plan to take the "Camp Freightliner" maintenance management and inspections course at Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp in Gaffney, SC ($155, they feed you lunch both days, dinner the first night, and let you stay there in your coach for the two nights):
Camp Freightliner
We will be there to take the course and do our initial maintenance in June (a little after it is due). At just under $1000 for a complete systems inspection, alignment check/adjustment, Allison 2500 filter change, and chassis engine and Onan generator oil changes you know you are getting more at a labor rate of $95/hr. than around here (the northeast) at $168/hr. The total each year thereafter will be about $600.
An Freightliner service center near here which shall remain unnamed does not do Allisons, and another one near here took two days to figure out if they could even do a 2500, then quoted $750.82 for a transmission oil change, which is not even needed until the third year, and every third thereafter. Caveat emptor. Camping World probably does a decent job on oil changes ($170 chassis, $100 generator), but there's more to chassis maintenance than that.
