Freightliner Optiview

Looks like the new wave of the future. Here's a video clip of Freightliners new digital dash set up. I love the camera set up with the ability to have a 360 degree view. It's official, put this down on the wish list.

That looks like it would be a distraction to me. I'd probably spend more time looking at the information center than the road.

I was thinking the same thing Paul! Freightliner and Mercedes developed the software and screen.

I think that I'd like it better. I find it hard to remember to continually check my air pressure and gauges. I think, for me, if they were in a more central location, I would pay more attention to them.

Why not a simple HUD (head up display) then you wouldn't have to take your eyes off the road. Old technology but very effective.

In FCC magazine, they refer to Optiview's use in a "premium RV chassis" whatever that means. If it ends up costing less than installing all of the guages separately, I bet they will. I'd love to have that setup!
