Fresh water tank

Any idea why this hose to the right vents out to the street?

Rich,
That is an over flow so when you are filling the fresh water tank, it will flow out that hose when full.

Just taking a wild guess and saying it's the overflow which releases air as you fill the tank...I'm presuming that is a fresh water tank...and when the tank is full or near full, water will come out. It's one way to tell if the tank is full. Just guessing as I'm not familiar with that set up.
I see I'm slow on the draw

Surprised that there is not a one way valve to keep dirt and such from backing into tank.

It has to breathe when you use water to. A one way valve might stop it from allowing air in.

Also there have been issues with that hose siphoning water off when in a turn or stopping.

I drilled a couple more holes in the floor & raised that over flow tube higher. If it would run over while I filling the water just run out.

Good point about one way valve, Russell. I think that I might do the same with my drain valve and drill some weep holes.

I also cut a hole in the wall to the front of the water tank. I can open the basement door in front and watch the water tank fill.
