True.... However... here in Alberta we get one plate...

I took a part time job driving school bus where a front plate would help me in getting plate numbers of the motorists who run my flashing red lights...

I lived in ohio untill we moved up here and never ran a front plate on the wifes 66 vette, still dont. Ive had pickups with plows on them since 69 and none ever had a front plate. We moved to mi in 2004 but because we still own properties in ohio, our motor vehicles are still registered and insured in ohio. Our trailers (3) are plated in mi because they have perminant plates.Ive never been questioned about any of it by le.

NJ requires 2 plates also, I did not put one on the front of mine. Have not had any issues yet.

Most states...as I have been told. On DOT tags only require front tags...when you go through the weigh station they look at the front...something blocks the back.

California says 2 plates. If you put the front plate on the dash you get cited for 3 violations. No front plate, covered plate ( the windshield is considered a cover) and plate too high. People visiting this lovely state are exempt for 10 days. On the 11th day of your visit the law requires that you register the vehicle with the state.

Yearly license fees in the people's republik run high. A new $100,000 dollar rig will run $1200 to $1400 per year. Oh, and if you cross a toll bridge you get charged by the axle.

Never understood the front plate thing. If it is such a good idea then why does not every state do it? When we moved from Florida to Texas my Mustang was not equipped for mounting a plate on the front so I resisted for about 2 years then was stopped by a Texas Highway Patrol who asked why I did not have one, I explained my story and he was sympathetic to my story but he insisted that I need one, I asked him what it was for and he said so LE can easily spot a vehicle that may be stolen or used in a crime. I asked him why Florida would not have thought to do the same thing if it was such a good idea and he had no clue that plates were not required on the front in Florida, he thought all 50 states required them. I traded the car a year later with no front plate..

Over 25-26k requires DOT number and requires front tag...around here. DOT will spank you if you go through a weigh station with tag on rear. Our F450 at work applies to this rule(cause of the trailer it pulls)

Merry Christmas to ALL !!
