The Plate Issue is really a Joke,State to State Rules change as well as # of plates issued! Several Only have 1 Plate for RV's but 2 for Car's & Truck's! Some States Req.if you are pulling a TT/5W that you install the Truck plate on the Front! What do they do when disconnected, put it on the Back? Many States that req 2 Plates Must Offer the Front Plate be a #3,Chevy,Ford,RAM,or John Deere? I have Never heard of a Bank or 7-11 being Robbed by a RVer pulling a Trailer/5W,but maybe there have been! Its a Crazy Wourld out there! Plates are just one of MANY things for Police to Pull you over, they will Find a Reason! Youroo!!

Sorry for the hijack Joe. The plate holder looks like a good solution. Probably cheaper than moving.
That is my concern as well Phil! I have no clue what they are going to nail me for License fees here in AL.

The minute we retire next year we are domiciling in FL like you and Dianna!

It's been good for us. No state tax. Love it. They do their best to get you on fees. Building permits about broke me this year.

But how is the license fees on the Berk? That is where they zap us in AL - as a retired Federal Employee, neither Anne-Marie or I are subject to AL State tax (we still pay 9% on food and medicine though )

I think our Moho tags were 40$ this year. Last year it was around 900 as we had to register it in Florida. This year we saw the huge saving as Michigan was about 800. We paid way less than 100 for Moho and car.

Yes, AutoZone has some handy dandy bolt kit choices so I used plastic washers (so as not to cause friction splintering on the fiberglass- can't be too careful right?), stainless steel bolts and locking nuts. I trimmed the plate out with a simple cover. It looks okay I guess.

Have you guys noticed there was already a thread on this subject in this forum (License Plate Mounting, at http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ing-78163.html)? It is somewhere near the early part of page 10, c. 07/24/2015)

This is what I did; details at the 07/24/2015 post (click on link):

Looks like the other end is against the front of generator door. Might just be angle of the photo. Do you get rubbing from the free floating end on paint ?

5456Mich:

Good question. I did not address that question in my original post (click on link provided), but if you look carefully, you may be able to see the edge of a 1" Velcro strip on the paint under the edge of the holder where the fastener touches the paint. You want it to be pressed firmly against the Velco strip (not free-floating) so it won't vibrate while travelling, and wear out the Velcro strip.

2 License plates? God, don't give Louisiana any ideas!!! We still have "brake tags" (inspection stickers) which should be outlawed but we have to fund our crooked politicians somehow!!!
