Most pumps have an auto shut off at $100. Depends on the owner of the station and sometimes the CC. Flying J's shut off at $100 with Amex, or $400 with Visa.

It's just a sign of the times.

Don't have a problem other than some stations have a $75 cc limit, but by simply starting again with the same cc, finish filling. I normally stop to refuel at the 1/4 -3/8 mark on the gauge. Never drive over 3 hrs without stopping after the back surgeon advised stopping between 2 -3 hrs, so I just try to stop at a gas station to kill two birds with one stone.

Besides, when we have the camper, we are not in that big of a hurry.

I've never picked up on the smell from diesel being on my shoes. But, over on rv.net people claim to keep booties in the truck and put them over their shoes before getting out at truck stops. I can't imagine doing that, though...
