Furnace will not turn on for 2013 berkshire 390bh

Hello everyone. I am having issues with my furnace. When I turn them on, it blows cold for 3 minutes and then shuts off. It worked fine for 2 years but did not use it much. My last trip it got really cold and when I turned it on, it would not head up and then just shut off. I checked my propane tank and it showed it was a quarter tank left. I took the RV the next morning to fill it just in case (was the first time refilling the tank). I assumed this would fix, but when I tried turning on the furnace after refill, it would not turn on. Can anyone help me with this issue. I am sure it is probable something very simple. This is my first RV and I have no clue how to fix. I tried turning of the valve and slowly turning it back on like a read in another post but that did not help. I also tried turning on the gas stove and it works perfectly fine. My RV is almost 2 years old in March so I do not believe this is under warranty. Thank you for reading.

Since you've really never used it, it probably has cob webs in the burner flue that need to be cleaned.
Can you hear igniter clicking?

Both Suburban and Atwood furnaces have two year warranties. However, you're responsible for regular maintenance.

As Turbs said, a good cleaning of the flue is the best place to start.

I mentioned this in another thread, pull the fuse and re-install it. There is a series of events that happen with my GTown that both furnaces won't light and it has to do with switching from generator to shore power (or vice versa). I can either pull the fuse on each furnace, or switch the coach batteries off, then on. Once done, all is well.

Like Turbs said, it's most likely a flue blockage, if your stove lights your getting fuel, if your furnace try's to start your getting power, bugs have a way of taking up residence in the flue and burner area and the safety's shut it back down.

Another possibility. If it does not light after three tries, it goes into safe mode and will not start. You need to shut it off ( not just down) may have to remove fuse. Then try again. Also make sure you run the stove burners to purge lines as you say you removed tank and had it filled. if this doesn't work I would suspect spiders as mentioned above.

It's a built in tank not removable.

It is both. Does anyone know were the fuse it for it? I also noticed some say they have 2 propane tanks. Is there a second one somewhere I don't know about?

The fuse should be at your supply/breaker panel. It's a 12v fuse. Those that mention 2 tanks are referring to trailers and motorhomes.

As far as I know the Berks only come with one tank. Although I have added the extend a stay to connect a portable tank. I only have one furnace and one heat pump two a/c units.

If it's happening to both, I would have to think you have air in your lines. Run all three stove top burners, ensure you get hot water from the faucet and see if the fridge will light off also (if it's not a residential). If all of them work, I'd keep trying to start one furnace at a time. Also listen to the furnace when you turn it on. Soon after the blower turns on you should here a series of fast clicks. This is your igniter trying to light off the gas. If you don't here the clicks then there is a issue. If you're hearing the clicks, then it's not lighting off which could be flow of propane.

Also, are you trying to start them with slides in or out? If out, bring the slides in and see if they light off. If they do, then the lines are getting pinched when the slide goes out. This happened in my 390BH when the kitchen slide was out. Pulled it in and everything worked. I followed the lines, under the fridge and under the sink and saw where they were getting pinched. Was able to spot tie them up and fixed the issue. Hope one of these tips helps!!

I reset the breaker and I can hear the heater running. The back is blowing warm but the front still shuts off after 5 minutes. Does anyone know what can be wrong? Thank you all again.

Does the front get warm during the 5 minutes? Can you hear the igniter clicking? Also as I asked earlier, is your slide in or out? If out, bring it in and see if it works. If it does, your propane line is getting pinched when the slide goes out.

Did you reset or pull both fuses? Each furnace will have a fuse.

Check your furance manual and see how long the manfacture warrenties the furance, many times it's longer then what FR warrenties the coach.

CO dector turned on? Stove work ok? Turn propane knob off and slowly turn back on. Just some things to try

I am sorry can you give me the exact location of the fuse. I checked on the outside front left panel were all the fuses are and could not find. I looked where the electric panel was under the bed and found the circuit breaker for the heater and only found one.

Jason, the front blows cold and turns off. The front slides are in right now. I hear a click when I turn it on then a click when it turns off.

No3putt, the the burners work fine, I turned of the propane know off for a day and turn it on slowly this morning.

One more tip to try is to make sure the fan is set to AUTO and not ON.

While I'm not familiar with the way the Berks are laid out, I'm assuming it would be with the rest of your 12v spade fuses. Something similar to this
