Furnace woes Part II
Well, I did get the furnace to actually work. Must have been something frozen in the gas line that melted during the last thaw here.
I can turn the furnace on and feel the hot exhaust outside and the hot air being pushed through the flex duct out of the furnace. But that's where I lost the trail. Only cool air comes out of the vents. I don't have a clue as to where the hot air exiting the furnace is going.
Any Suggestions ?
Thanks.

DOH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok...so I found the heat shoots out from under the kitchen cabinets. But the air conditioning ducts still flow with cool air. What is SOP here? Close ceiling vents when heating ?

Put your digital thermostat on "auto" instead of low or high and AC won't come on

I'm guessing it's a setting on your thermostat that is making this ceiling air come out.

X2!! Don't know why that is but that is how it works. Also, make sure that the clock on the thermostat is set.

I think they are saying specifically to set the 'Fan' on Auto using the fan button.

Dan,
That is correct. The fan should be set on Auto.

X2! Dan & Tom; I went into the MH yesterday in the cold to work on it. Both zones were off. I put both zone furnaces on and said "What the Hey!", cool air coming out the AC. I quickly found the Fan to be on, rather then to Auto.

Sounds almost exactly like the situation I had... plenty of toasty air in the utilities space but in the coach, not so much. Would come out like gangbusters from under the sink when the cabinet doors were opened.
It turned out that there were two problems at the furnace. First, the rear panel on the plenum was open on one side so the heated air was just circulating in the utility space. The little push-and-turn 'nut' had loosened and fallen out - didn't find it until after I had closed it back up with a self-tapping screw. Second was that one of the duct bayonet fittings had come partially loose. Just the right combination of twist that it rotated itself out so I redid the connection with a different twist.
In my case, I had to remove two or three carpeted panels in the pass-through storage to get to the furnace.

Thanks to all who replied. I went out and put the fan on auto and it turned the ceiling vents off. Heat now comes out by the cabinet base kick plate.
I'll now feel better on our first trip which will have cool nights.
Now I just gotta figure out where I will refill the propane tank.

Most Flying J's do propane fill ups as do most campgrounds.
