Generator Battery

Is the generator connected to coach batteries or chassis batteries??? My coach batteries show full charge but I can't get my generator to start.... It acts like a low battery just turning over verrrry slowly.... Not enough to fire it off....

Ernest I believe the gen runs off off house batteries. If it won't start hold down the aux start toggle switch and gen start at same time, the chassis batteries will be able to boost it enough to get it running again.

My 2008 the generator starts off the house batteries. But the Aux Start switch works both ways.

My Generator is connected to the house batteries. I use the Auxiliary Switch holding it down as I try to crank the Gen switch. Hold the Aux switch a couple seconds after the gen starts until the gen starts to produce enough power to keep it going.

Not really sure what's going on - took coach to get tires aired up and decided to fire up gen and turn on roof AC's.... Gen fired up and things worked great....

Got home, backed coach into its spot and shut everything down... Then realized I wanted the AC on while I worked inside so I decided to fire gen back up.... It wouldn't fire up.... It acted like I had low batteries and didn't have enough juice to start it... Tried using the battery boost switch - made no difference.... Wouldn't start...

Batteries aren't a year old and they are golf cart deep cycle so don't believe they're bad... (Haven't had chance to test them)

Red or positive will connect to starter assembly (solenoid). Black or negative will bond to the frame. Check your Onan IB for visual aid.

I don't know what the issue is - I've charged the coach batteries and the gen still doesn't the uh-uh-uh-uh thing.... It just won't turn over fast enough to fire off.... Don't know if it's a gen issue or a battery issue.... It fired right up and ran great and then when I shut it off it won't fire off again... Batteries are relatively new - GC batteries less than a year old...,
