Generator output
Cross posting to the Berk forum...
House batteries were very low. 12 volt lights would work, but I needed to jump the generator with the chassis batteries to get it to start.
The remote generator monitor in the monitoring center had the "bulk" light blinking. The owners manual for the magnum inverter/charger explained that this could be due to overheated batteries or a low AC voltage input to the inverter/charger. I opened the battery bay and checked that the batteries were not hot. I left the bay open to ambient 70 degrees to be sure.
I checked the voltage to the batteries across the battery terminals, and it was only 12.7V.
The generator was able to run both air conditioners and the refrigerator at the same time, but the voltage to the batteries did not increase to the low 14V I'm accustomed to seeing during bulk charge.
I want to see what AC voltage the generator is supplying to the inverter/charger before I surmise that my inverter/charger is bad.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
