Generator Won't Start

I have a fairly new Berkshire and the generator only has 14 hours on it. I had it running about two weeks ago but now it won't start and is blinking a service code.

The problem is that the generator owner's manual has a troubleshooting section to identify the code / problem, however, mine is blinking a '17' as the secondary code, and there is no number 17 fault listed in the manual (!!??) The fault codes are numbered 15 then 19, so no 17.
The genny does not even turn over - just flashes the '3' code indicating a service fault.

I have calls in to both my dealer and Cummins/Onan but had to leave messages for a call-back.

We did have severely cold weather recently but I checked the coolant and oil levels and nothing is frozen that I can see.

Anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Fonzie, thanks for that link . According to that thread the fuel pump is the problem. Hoping mine is due to cold weather..... We're leaving this Saturday so no time for service call. If I am real lucky, the warmer weather may sort it out. Thanks again!

Dealer had to change my fuel pump on the day I came over to pick it up (last month)

I'm sorry, I don't know. I do know they had already picked up a new pump and installed it by the time I got there...Gen had less than 5hrs on it. Just didn't want you to feel like the Lone Ranger.

Okay Thanks for the reply. Mine was working 2 weeks ago so still hoping something froze - and will thaw soon.

Went for replacement of the fuel pump today and they found the pump to be working but the software needs to be 're-flashed'. That shop could not do the download saying that Onan has restricted which shops can access the codes ($&!@!). So now have to go to a larger dealership for the fix. Aggravation has no bounds!
