Does anyone have recommendations for RV parks/campgrounds at Glacier?

Whilst you're there, read the book "Night of the grizzly".

We stay last July at the West Glacier KOA. Very convenient to the park and town. Good campsite. Did not fell too cramped.

West Glacier KOA is excellent but pricy, especially their premium sites. I've stayed at Mountain Meadows in Hungry Horse. That wasn't too bad. You could also search on campgroundreviews.com for some honest reviews. That tends to be where I check out places to stay prior to going there.

Wow, Hutch333id, you're right. Just looked at KOA- $95 per night. Will look at the other recommendations. Thanks all!

Johnson's was a little tight, but serviceable, since we didn't spend much time at the campground.

We just returned from Glacier and stayed at Mountain Meadows in Hungry Horse. We were very happy with the place, and would stay there again.
Enjoy your stay!

Last year when we stayed at West Glacier KOA Site 141 which was a very level gravel pull thru site with our discount we paid $377 for 6 nights of camping. Yes there are more premium site but i did not consider this too high cost.

$376 would have been very reasonable but only premium space available last minute. We're full-timers and spontaneous and heading there this weekend from Custer SD. Columbia Falls was booked. We got the last spot at Mountain Meadows! Thanks for the help!

Don't worry Grizzly attacks are so rare, you're more likely to be struck by lightning. In fact, Grizzles are less dangerous than black bears.
The book is about two simultaneous attacks in the park (in 1967) on two girls in campgrounds 10 miles apart and by two different bears. It's an interesting read.
