Good Sam Insurance Agency ??
Anyone use this agency to insure their motor home ? Looking at a flyer of theirs and they claim that they will shop your ins. and get you quotes from the following companies.
Good Sam Vehicle Insurance Plan
Blue Sky
Safeco Insurance
Allied Insurance
National Interstate
Foremost Insurance Group
I was wondering if anyone here has had any dealings with the above mentioned and good or bad outcome ? Haven't nailed down a carrier yet , this flyer says they'll save you hundreds. Only good though in my opinion if they are a reputable company.
Thanks

Just signed with Allied. Had Victoria but they got out of insuring RV's and they sent us to Allied. Gave us a great price. We had an awning claim with Victoria and they were great.

National is a great company. The biggest plus is you get a person first try. Not overseas either

I have claim experience with allied/nationwide. They were tremendous and not stingy! After my at fault accident, they didn't raise my rates. Great people! Rate for my area of Texas was around $1400/yr

Had Nationwide on cars, rv, and home for the last 12 yrs. They kept going up for same coverage . I got a quote from Good Sam for all the insurance and they were $400 cheaper. I then got a quote from Geico and they landed up being the cheapest. They beat Good Sam by another $300. this for the same coverage or better than Nationwide. I never had any problems with Nationwide but $700 is better in my pocket then the Insurance companies.

Michigan has the highest rates in the nation. When I compared AAA to Good Sams, I saved about$1,000 with AAA. I'm not happy with my agent, but it was cheaper.

So I joined AARP and had ins. quoted by The Hartford. Rates seem really good. Anyone else used them and are satisfied with the company ? Thanks Bosco100 for the tip.

Had my class A hit by a drunk driver spring 2014, $39,000 in damage, he was insured to $20,000. I have Allied/Nationwide and they covered it all with no problem, no increase to me. They were easy to contact throughout the process and kept me informed and made sure I was happy all along. It's my contention that you get what you pay for, they were great for me.

I just went with FMCA and they quoted Blue Sky and saved me $200.00 over GS and National General.

I had AAA for all of our vehicles until we moved from pop-up to TT. I questioned AAA on charges when tow vehicle broke down pulling the TT: double or more, of course. We have Good Sam on everything now and, other than saving a lot of bucks, have been treated very well.

GS shopped for us and saved us money compared to National General.

I have Good Sam Insurance and although I have never had to make a claim, the positive with them is, if you are not using the RV, you can put the liability and collision on hold (which they will give you a refund) and they will continue with the cost of the comprehensive only. That way you yearly cost are not as much. Just be sure to let them know when you are going back out.

I don't know about RV insurance in the US but in Ontario, Canada most insurance companies use Aviva or Wayfarers. I have always used these companies until I got a new broker. He deals with Echelon for RVs and the cost for my 5th wheel this year is $365 with full replacement value for 10 years. I believe Echelon provides insurance across Canada.

Was told by AARP thru the Hartford that they will do the same. You have to let them know by phone call when to suspend and also when to reactivate it. Good stuff !

I've found most reputable insurers will allow you to put RV insurance on hold while it is parked. Regarding the insurance policy itself, you need to compare apples to apples. It is no easy task, but I recommend you line up several reputable companies and make a column for each comparing what they cover. On my analysis there were a few stand-outs, one of which was GEICO. By switching one of my family cars onto the GEICO policy, I was able to save even more through a "multi-vehicle discount". Finally, from what I see of GS, they make a lot of money off of a good reputation from their camping expertise. But, they were substantially higher than the GEICO policy I bought.

I have all my insurance thru State Farm. USAA told me they could save me $400+ a year. When it came down to the brass tacks, getting the same exact same coverage, was going to cost me an additional $200 per year. Be careful and compare apples to apples when the agent is pressuring you to sign. Look at deductibles also.

I've been very happy with Hartford through AARP. I had no hassles with them when I needed to get my roof replaced after an altercation with a tree.
