Grill Head Install

Has anyone ever installed a grill head on their lower compartment slide out? The attached picture is an example of the grill head. Would be handy to have a nice grill mounted underneath.

Also looking for other options out there. If anyone has other ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks!

I would be concerned about the smoke or fire getting on the painted sides. I use a gas grill, but I have a 20' extension so I can move it far away from the coach.

I too use a long hose to keep the grill away from the sides of the coach. I didn't want to chance the very high heat that a grill puts out blistering the paint.

I prefer the Weber Q with the ten foot hose sitting on a separate table.

Have used the RVQ attached to our2 campers for 6 years now and no adverse effects on the side of the campers or the awnings which are always deployed.

Ditto with OC. They splatter and require a wipe down but I haven't seen any blemishes or damage.

Aside from getting stuff on the MH, I thought it would be too low for comfort while grilling.
THat's why I would prefer a grill on the table.

WE had an RVQ on the side of our LQ horse trailer which was white and polished aluminum. Never had any issues with grease spatter or heat,I could put my hand on the side of the trailer behind the grille and it wasnt even warm. What I DIDNT like was that it couldnt be leveled,it was always tipped down a bit in front which kept the grease from draining into the grease can. We still have the RVQ but I'm not going to put a rail on the new trailer for it.I will modify the brace that it sat on so it can sit on a table and be properly leveled.I have a 20' hose but never used it because we always hung it on the trailer side.

Is yours under a slide that has full body paint?

I bought a Weber Q and the rolling stand for it. Was going to convert it to run it off the RV low pressure line, but cooked steaks a couple times off 1 small bottle and decided that just wasn't any hassle at all...may convert later.

It's mounted to the side of a fiberglas sidewall under the awning. It mounts just to the right of the television in the top picture and to the left of the bottom picture with the tv. The awning covers the entire rail.

That's not really anything like what the OP is talking about setting up.

I think the "grill head" the OP is considering will put out a whole lot more in the way of BTU's than an RVQ and would be a reason I'd personally keep something that size away from the camper (i.e. 20ft hose)..... I'm totally in the Weber Q camp for our grilling needs

We went with the Weber Q 1200, it has folding work tables and a built in lid thermometer.

We've had our Weber Q200 for nearly 3 years....if this one ever wears out, we're going to get the updated version with the new and sturdier roll-around cart. It's light, very portable and easy to clean, doesn't take up much room - almost like it was made for RV'ing

I bought my webber Q with the rolling cart in sept of 2004 and I'm stilling using it!! Love the grill and only small issue after 10 years is the burner does not always burn evenly but I clean it off really good and it's good for awhile...
