Headlights and tail lights

]Anyone know what vehicle the headlights and taillights come from? I believe the previous tail lights were from a Ford Explorer.

I'm looking at projector lamps for the headlights - and it would help to know what these headlights came from..

Thank you!

Alex

They have a # or stamp that a good body shop will have a cross referance book or computer list to tell You 1st hand what they are and what will cross with them as to fit remember the wire is what is also important do not over power it and fry things as in Head light switch and computer system they can be fryed if over taxed for power!Bush

So - it appears that this headlight is from a Toyota Highlander (2001 - 2003).

I am going to try and verify that completely as well as post some alternative lights that may fit the coach with a better beam pattern..

Thank you..

Oddly I just read this thread yesterday and today I parked next to a Dodge Ram that has our exact LED tail lights. Not sure what year but it looked like a sport model of the ram 1500.

Were you able to confirm this on your lights? Mine have a small break in the seal and keep building up condensation so I want to swap them out as soon as possible.

I have a 2011 390 BH-60. The part numbers on the Headlights are: Passanger Side (TYC Brother Industrial Co) TYC 20-6173 Driver's Side TYC 20-6174. They also fit a 2001 Toyota Highlander.

Thanks a million. I appreciate the Research. Off to Amazon to get a replacement now. Found the part number to match exactly.... TYC 20-6173-00 Toyota Highlander Passenger Side Headlight Assembly : Amazon.com : Automotive but I wonder if these will be identical as they also work on a 2001 Toyota Highlander. New Headlamp Headlight - OEM: 8117048150, OEM: 8113048150, Pair Set : Amazon.com : Automotive

Thanks again for looking it up!

You may find a less expensive brand headlight. However during my reasearch there was a lot of negative comments about them. They were not sealed or the adjusters would not work or broke when they attempted to adjust the beam.
I have the same problem described in one of the post. Condensation inside.

Good point. Stay with the original. One last thing... since I'm going to replace them both, got any thoughts on going with an HID upgrade for better visibility on the headlights? TDŽ 8000K Xenon HID Kit Low Beam 00 04 Toyota Highlander 9006/HB4 and TDŽ 8000K Xenon HID Kit High Beam 00 04 Toyota Highlander 9005/HB3

The a/m HID kits are not as great as factory. From what I understand from the industry, the reflectors inside the lenses are set up to maximize the light output of halogen. Putting in a higher output HID make work well in some vehicles but may send the light in the wrong direction.

With that being said, I use sylvania silverstars. A different color or "frequency" of light. They have their basic set at $35 bucks or their super wazoo ones at $50. Trade off is bulb life. To me, they are a huge difference in quality of light and I run them in both my vehicles and foglights. Don't use a cheaper brand-they are not tested for quality like the sylvanias. Seen MANY Honda's come in with melted headlight housings and wire harnesses because the cheap lights pull too many watts.

I feel compelled to point out that installing a HID bulb kit in a vehicle that was not sold new with HID is a violation of federal and therefore state DOT law.

There are many anecdotal stories on the net of people being pulled over and ticketed. Not to say you will, but can happen.

And just for reference, the factory color temperature on most HID bulbs is about 3500 Kelvin. Anything over 6000 is basically blue and you are losing significant PAR which is light output.

Ok.... Thinking of these. http://www.headlightsdepot.com/produ...P#.UYx91Cm9KSM looks like good reviews for quality and upgrading the bulbs to http://www.headlightsdepot.com/produ.../2001/9006CVS2 and http://www.headlightsdepot.com/produ...2#.UYx-qym9KSM. Thoughts? Just want to be sure I get the right lights and maximize visibility.

Doctormdj- your first choice will give you an HID look with a bluish light at the lens and I'm hoping a good pattern on the ground. The silverstars are definatly a brighter white than basic bulbs but no blue. Any upgrade should be a improvement than standard and on a highway at night you will notice the difference. I just recommend going with a quality bulb so do your homework.
