Heat Pump

I've got a question on my 14 berk 390fl. Should both heat pumps be available on the thermostat? I have only 1 zone showing the HP. Both A/c units are the same, so is it just a programming issue? Any help appreciated.

My 2011 came with a front only HP. Unless you ordered a HP for zone 2 it does not have one.

Thanks guys. I thought since the units were identical, they should have the same capability.

Was your MH ordered that way? Are the units both 13.5?

Both are 13.5 units and puchased off lot, not ordered.

I stand corrected. I know that mine has only a front HP. This is something that FR must change from year to year. I guess the only way to tell for sure is to check the model number of both units.

Yep, model # is the same. I'm taking it back to the factory in the spring...I'll check with them then.

Added new 15K Penguin HP to front moved 13.5K HP to back of '13 Berk 360QL. Check WWW.DOMETIC.COM web site under INSTALLATIONS INSTRUCTIONS: COMFORT CONTROL II. 0n Page 17 Letter M, it's shows 'Dip Switches' that have to be set for each unit individually. #7 is for the HP setting. It needs to be On for the rear unit to allow HP option. We had Dometic Service Tech @ FROG Rally set ours so they both work now in HP mode.

So you're saying that the dip switches on the unit must be changed so the thermostat can recognize the capability. I am bringing the coach to the factory in Elkhart next spring for some warranty work so they should be able to do this. I wonder why it isn't done from the factory, or was it just an oversight? Thanks for your input. Might as well use the RV parks energy source for heat instead of wasting LP if the capability is there.

Did the exact same thing on our 360FWS Better cooling up front and better heat in the rear! They should come this way!

It would seem logical that when the 13.5K HP was moved to the rear which replaced the non-HP unit, the dip switch #7 would already be 'ON' . But all the tech said he had to do was turn the HP switch ON for the rear unit since it had been moved from original location. Before the switch was changed we didn't have HP as an option on the CCC II unit. After he climbed off the roof, Voila! It was there. He didn't enter our coach to make the fix. BYTW just had perfect fall weekend here in South Haven MI and used both HP's for a bit early mornings to warm up. Nice upgrade.

I've frequently said...why aren't there 2 HP's or bigger this or fully ducted AC or aluminum wheels, etc. But I remember that aside from floor plan differences .....to get many of these items I would have paid a lot more ($30 or 40K or More ) for my RV. So I still feel it's a heck of a coach for the money. JMO.
