Help with surge guard

I have a trc 50amp surge guard. I came back to the coach today and had no power. No breakers were tripped. I checked the surge guard and the line 1 and 2 lights were on but the power on light was not. I reset the main breaker waiting for the timed delay. The light blinked for the delay then went out in about 2 min like normal. However you couldn't hear the switch and no power came on. What could this be? Defective unit?? Any help would be great.

Check\reset the breaker on the pedestal. Make sure you have power coming from that first.

If you have no warning lights, take out the surge guard and check the pedestal voltage with a VOM. Then, if it is ok, hook up without the surge guard. If it works then you know that you have a defective unit. I am leaning towards defective from what you described.

That is what I did. Something is wrong with the unit. Any suggestions on a better unit? Something more reliable??

Look at the ones from Progressive Industries. I hear lots of good stuff about them. I currently have a surgard myself (it was on clearance, and didn't know any better), but I am going to upgrade to the PI when that one goes, or, next trailer.
