See if you can find the pieces and parts. We had what looked like a huge gear sheared in two within a few weeks of picking up our Berkshire we let them replace the step. We wished we’d gone the repair route. But it was our 1sr electric step. Lesson learned. 11 390 rb

As an aside..... and not saying you did this to cause your problem dave-g but I have seen others do this with the same result....

Don't step on the step when it's moving!

I know, you're in a hurry to get out at the pump or wherever.... so you open the door and surf the outgoing step. It puts a LOT of stress on the mechanism. I have to force myself to WAIT until it's OUT.

FYI.

I always wait- But , have to remind my wife all the time to wait.

when it failed,1st I could hear the step making very bad noise when it fully extended.

I found the gear ( the one you have a picture of) with the last 2 teeth chipped, but the shaft it is mounted to bent over.

I had to make to stops on the way home- and the last time it went out in the driveway at home the gear shaft snapped.

I disconnected power for now- too cold yesterday to mess with it.
