Insurance
Anyone have experience with Allied Insurance - Nationwide????? I just got my renewal notice from Progressive and they've gone up almost 1/3 in annual premiums.... Contacted Good Sam's insurance division and got a fantastic quote from both Blue Sky and Allied..... Both about 1/3 of the Progressive quote for better coverage....

I have Blue Sky insurance, my premium did go up $200 a year from last year. I have yet to make a claim (knock on wood) so I can not testify to how good of an insurance company they are.
I have been reading lots of post on many RV forum about insurance rates rising. They all do it eventually.

Progressive's pricing has become, what I consider, excessive... $2,261.00 yearly... Granted I did have a small claim last year (less than $1,000) but to increase my annual by almost $700 is more than I can take... Really ticked me off - especially since they insure my three other cars.....

I have Allied with Nationwide. I took out a stop sign 3 weeks ago and had to file a claim. So far the process has been effortless. My shop is dealing directly with Nationwide and I have gotten no bad reports. We were in Pittsburgh and an adjuster came to the unit, secured the loose items and offered to repair it locally or I could take it back to Texas.

We left Progressive also and went with GS. Saved a bunch. We have our Jeep with them also. HATE Progressive. So far so good with GS but to be honest I have zero loyalty to any insurance co. I will switch for a better rate in a second.

Ditto on Progressive. When I bought my Harley, they wanted to raise my premium from $225/year on my 2005 Suzuki to almost $1000 for my 2014 HD. Now I know that there's going to be some increase, but that much? Really? So I stared looking at other carriers: Riders's was around $600 (and they are under the Progressive umbrella,) Harley Davidson was around $500 (also underwritten by Progressive) and I finally went with State Farm at $370/year. If there was THAT much difference between three different branches of Progressive, then that's way too fishy for me. I got seven different quotes before I went with the best rate. Insurance is a racket.

I pay a bit over $200 a month, but that's full coverage on the coach AND the toad. This is with National General.

Progressive is a bait and switch imo. Low rate for first year then look out! I guess they have to pay for those goofy commercials..

We insure everything with State Farm. Right around $250 for 2 full size crew cab pickups(2002 & 2006), RV (2012), boat (2012), 2 Atv's (both 2014) and a life insurance policy on our grandson.

I just today changed from Progressive to Allied Insurance ...... Saved $1575.00 on my annual total.... Went from $2261.00 to $687.00... Even got more coverage.... When I called Progressive to cancel, they were shocked that I was canceling.... Asked what my reason was and I shared the two annual premiums with them.... Didn't have a lot to say after that....
Something interesting tho - found out my rate was increased $600 because I had a claim last year - yep, I did... All $1100.00 worth.... Also - this was the FIRST claim I've had with them....
