Interstate Star Warranty SCAM!!!!!

Just got our authorization for our Dometic fridge repair. Repair bill is $2755, warranty company only authorized $1681.

What a SCAM, FRAUD company!!!!!

This is for suppossed "diamond" coverage. Full coverage under minus a $50 deductible.

Anybody had any success fighting these crooks???

I think the biggest Dometic is only around 1k.

We bought the extended warranty direct from Dometic. They are very easy to deal with.

Think of a warranty more like an insurance company. They aren't there to help you out. They're there to make money. I wouldn't even repair it if you can just get a new one much cheaper. In most cases you are well ahead skipping the "insurance" policy as far as warranty goes because most issues crop up in the first year or two anyway. That's just MHO based on my own personal experience. I once watched the lady in front of me think about a $1 warranty on her $10 calculator at the checkout line at Office Depot.

Wow. That is a scam.

Has the work been done? I think you should just buy a new fridge and install it.

The OP has a Dometic 1350.

Dometic fridge quit

This fridge is regularly $3700 bucks, or 3 Th'ouch'and Dollars, on sale.

Not knowing what is wrong with it..... it's hard for us to really know if it's the warranty company, the parts are just sky high, or if the one doing the warranty work is high.

Does the warranty company have a provider that will repair the fridge for their estimate? I had that experience. Also, do they cut the check to you or the shop? I see new 4 door models cost between $3000 and $3700. Maybe they can suggest a repair facility that will be bound by the estimate.
Good luck
