Is it my eyes or the lights?

My LED ceiling lights seem to have gradually gotten dimmer in the front room. When comparing the bedroom ceiling lights that are also on a dimmer control, they are bright and white, while the front room's lights are very yellow.

I would think that the problem is the dimmer control. Has anyone had the same problem and a remedy?

Check your battery level. I had that happen and it turned out the batteries were not charging.

Two different color range light. The yellow looking is more a natural or soft white and of course the bright white is just that bright white. I hope this helps, Led's are not know to get that much dimmer.

My battery level is 13.60 volts. I am not implying that the LED elements have gotten dimmer, but the are dimmable by a dimmer control, just as the bedroom lights are. With the dimmer control fully up in the bedroom and front room, there is a noticeable lower light level in the front.

If you are handy with a multi meter you can compare the voltages at both dimmers, sounds like it could be a dimmer switch issue.

For a quick check I would swap the LEDs and see if they look the same. If the light is still dim up front, dimmer issue. If the dim lights are now in the back, the bulbs are possibly going bad or are a different color bulb.

You could also switch the dimmer controls.

When I turn on the front lights, they default to a medium brightness. I have to turn them up to get them brighter. Wonder if yours are the same?

I have a slide control and the intensity remains where the slide is positioned. I agree with the suggestions of checking the dimmer control's voltage or swapping with the bedroom control if that is possible because of their ratings. My front room has 14 LED's and the rear, only 4.

A lot if us are having big troubles with defective LED lights on the Legacy and similar due to some defective products. Take off the glass lens and be sure all the LEDs are lit. My 2015 currently has about 9 totally or partially bad lights.

I haven't changed any so far and they are all still bright, but I have one light that's flickering like crazy. Will have to change it out soon I guess.

I realize a lot of you have had trouble with LED lights, however my 14 in the front room have been good for four years. Over an interval they must have been getting dimmer until such a point we realized is it our eyes or why is it so dark in here. I di not believe it is the LED's themselves but maybe the dimmer control.

Have gotten some good suggestions here. I posted to see if anyone else has had the same problem

LED lights are great, but even the manufacturer told me they had a bad batch that were being replaced. I think that batch may be bigger than they thought. I spoke with a fellow selling LED fixtures at the Tampa RV show last month and he was aware of the issue, too; even told me the name of the manufacturer when I mentioned it (ITC). FR says they're replace them, but they won't send them to me - I have to take them into the dealer for replacement. My dealer's service folks stink, so I've been holding off. Trying to persuade the dealer right now to order and send them to me for installation. At least then I can do it in less than the six weeks it would likely take them!

As Op of this thread, I was hoping that someone had the same problem and had solved it. It doesn't appear so.

Therefore, I dug out my digital voltmeter and investigated the dimmer switch.

I found that both the bedroom and living room has the same control; namely:
American Technology Components Inc.
AH-SLD-5-LS01
W/O: 101272 Rev A

My voltage readings were:
Batttery: 13.6V

Living Room Dimmer
Supply (Red to Black) : 13.28V
Dimmer Hi (White to Black): 0.89V
Dimmer Lo: (white to Black): 15.28V

Bedroom Dimmer
Supply: 13.27V
Dimmer Hi: 0.90V
Dimmer Lo: 17.60V

Now I am perplexed. First with the lights Hi (brightest) the control voltage is the lowest. Secondly, with the lights Lo (dim) the control voltage is even higher then the battery - LOL

I am wondering if there is a control module somewhere! I guess that I need to get with FR.

? Very common issue. LED's DO get dimmer, and the driver circuits go bad causing dimming, and a multi LED panel can have one or more LEDs go bad.

I called American Technologies and got some good information. The dimmer control, controls the ground side of the LED's using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). The LED lights have their high side going to 12 volts directly.

This explains another problem that I had, which I didn't want to muddy the waters with my post. In the living room, I have eight celling lights and three soffit lights on each slide-out. I previously had a problem where my dinette soffit lights (controlled by the dimmer) and the table and sofa light go out. I found a fuse blew. This however got me to wonder how can the dimmer which controls all the living area lights, have one section go out. Now I know, namely the living area does have several different fused circuits that supply power to all the lights high side. However the lights that are dimmable have their low side going to the dimmer control. The table and sofa lights have their low side going directly to ground.

I may have to order a new dimmer control ($39.95) but only after another experiment where I remove the dimmer and wire the light circuit directly to ground.

The heavily used ceiling light over the electric panel in the hallway went dim and stayed that way. I replaced it, and all is OK:
