Jumped from Tiffin to Berkshire

Hello-

Just recently made the switch from our 2010 Tiffin Allegro gasser to a brand new Berkshire 390bh-40. Couldn't be happier so far. It was a long and tedious process trying to decide which bunkhouse diesel would be the best fit. Looked at the Allegro RED, Thor Astoria, Fleetwood Expedition and Discovery, and even the new Pallazzo. In the end, we decided the Berkshire was the best bang for the buck, offering us more for the dollar than we could have gotten with the others.

Learning all about the new coach. Would appreciate any advice or insider tips on the Berkshire from current/past owners. We'll be doing some local camping in the next few months to hopefully iron out all the new MH wrinkles that are bound to pop-up, then we're off to Yosemite for the summer months. Can't wait to drive the diesel down the highway. Drives like a dream compared to the gasser.

Congrats on the purchase. Just browse the Berkshire forum to find the most common problems that have occurred.

Congrats and welcome to the family. You are bound to have some issues with any new MH. I think FR stands behind their product 100%. They do drive nice don't they. Have fun.

Congratulationss & welcome to the Berkshire family. We hope you are as happy with your Berkshire as we are with ours. We looked at a lot of units from gas to diesel push, including Tiffin and found for the money no other unit offered as much as we have in our 390RB-60.

Welcome to the Berkshire family. I can tell you from personal experience that Forest River will stand behind your Berkshire 110%.

You are correct about getting a lot of bang for your buck with the Berkshire. They are a great coach!

A 2005 Alegro Bay which we bought new. Had it for five yeas and had a lot of small issue and one hugh one and spent a lot of time in Red Bay. Had the Berkshire for three years now and the only time it has been in the shop is for an oil change. It drives like a dream and we comment often that our next RV will be either a Berkshire or a Charleston. Hope you enjoy yours as much!

Welcome to the Forum.

Another big advantage of the Berkshire is that you are a lot closer to Elkhart, IN than Red Bay, AL if you ever have anything major that has to be handled by the factory. We almost went with a Tiffin when we bought our Berkshire. No regrets about our decision.

Its encouraging folks are happy with berk, thinking of buying after having a Georgetown. my problem is, it sure is time forest river changes paint scheme, what they got now doesn't do anything for me, an its been same for last 3 years or so, an would it really break the bank to put on some chrome mirrors ?
