Keyless Entry?

You would think forest river would be able to help since they have them on the Charleston's... They even have the key pad on the entry assist handle!!

When I could not find a keyless entry to fit the Berkshire I installed a residential one. It required a insert plate I had a buddy make up. I call it the Roland plate after him. I have had it on for three seasons and it looks good and has worked great. I mounted it upside down so I could turn the deadbolt from inside the coach without modification to the screen. It left the original lock intact which we use when traveling. Use keyless when parked. Great not having to carry the keys.

My question: Why would anyone want keyless entry? I think those things could be easily hacked, or someone might want to just sit there and keep doing iterations until they "got it" and I don't think anyone else would care or notice, because the assumption would be made that you owned the RV and you "forgot" your code.

Ok, I figure my "key" entry could be compromised with a slim jim, but is keyless entry any more secure?

You can't get in with a slim Jim. A keyless entry is very secure and to guess the correct code would be nearly impossible. I hate carrying keys when we are at the pool or clubhouse. It would be so cool to have keyless on the door and the basement compartment doors. Now I'm just dreaming.
