Leak on compartment door.

Has anyone else had this issue? I opened the compartment door that has the release for the gen set. It was flooded with water. I changed the gasket material and checked in the next rain. Checked again still water in that bay. Yesterday I found they used rivets at the bottom lip and it looks like water goes right in under gasket and into bay. I sealed those rivets and the rivets used to hold the large hinge on the top. I hope I got it this time. Any advice on something I overlooked? Thanks. Ken

No problems here (YET). But I haven't driven that much in the rain, either. I'll watch for it though.

Regards

Same here- no problems that I have noticed with that compartment but I found that the compartment behind the rear wheel on the drives side gets wet. Can't see any problem with the seal.

I noticed mine when it was parked. It looks like the water comes down from roof over window and down that door. I also raised that side of the coach up to move that water run off the other side. Hope it works.

Ah..... When it rains heavy, I get water over the top of the entry door. Since it runs only into the well and then out onto the ground, I haven't worried about it to much. The seal over the door seems fine to me.

'Course here in AZ I've only been rained on twice in 8 months!!

I'd better go out and check mine since we got several inches of rain yesterday and today.

Damn! Wouldn't you know it! Just checked and my compartment was wet inside along the front edge. Not a puddle but just wet to the touch. Also I noticed that the seal along the top of the compartment was bunched up on one side, like it was pushed up by the door when it closed. Looks like another thing to take care of!

Yes that's what mine did. I will try to post pictures tomorrow of what I did to try to stop the water. Also look on the inside of the door. The spot where they drill the hole for the lockset. The plywood in there was wet on mine also. If you can think of anything else to prevent the water from coming in please share.

I had a leak in that compartment at one time. I found two things. First the casket at the top of the door was pinching when it was closed. I replaced the gasket and ensured that it covered the entire area in one piece. I got the gasket material at Lowes. That took care of the problem. The second thing I found was that the drain holes at the bottom of the cabinet were plugged with wood shavings and other junk. I cleaned those out also.
