Tom, maybe I'm un-informed and doing it the "dangerous" way, but I usually put the new Dicor right over the old, but for a single application only; if there are already two "layers" of Dicor I'd remove both layers before applying the new.

I've heard great things about the Eternabond tape, BTW.

Had leaks on both front and rear cap, after several attempts by dealer, I just put 4" ethernabond tape over the seams and no leaks since.
