LG TV above the fireplace

I'm not much of a TV watcher. Got this MH last year. We've been trying to watch TV for the past month. Several times after about an hour or so the TV goes Black and then after a few seconds it comes back on. It doesn't matter whether a TV program of if we were using the DVD.
Another problem we've had is sometimes the speakers have had a loud static come out once in a while, again after the TV has been on an hour or so.
Do I have something going wrong with the TV or do I have something set wrong?
Thanks

Best way to find out is to hook up another TV in that spot and see what happens.

And try that TV in another spot...

It sounds like it is shutting off on the heat sink board. Is it a RCA? I had the same problem. There's a heat sink on the board. It over heats and it shuts down until it cools, I bought a Sony and replaced it, problem ended.

Yeah, sounds like the TV is having Maalox moments when it gets toasty. Swap out another unit is the test....

DVD

We had a staple through the cat 5 on our XLT. Try hooking DVD straight to TV without any other connections. Our staple caused the exact same symptoms but in bed room TV.
Good luck.

I happen to own 6 Vizio TV’s. Not junk at all. They are cheap but haven’t failed me like 2 previous Samsung’s crap. I have a 55” and a 32” in the new fifth wheel after I threw out the stock Furrion junk. Have a 19”, 43” 55” and a 70” in the home port. The oldest being 7 years. I might add, Vizio sells both tv’s and home theatre systems. Tv’s have a tuner, home theatre are monitors. The E series is better than the D series.

TVs are like RVs--they are assembled from a series of components procured from other manufacturers.

The backlight (CCFL or LED) comes from one of about six sources. The LCD itself comes from one of about six or seven, all in the far east. The semiconductors--or even the assembled motherboards--come from maybe another half-dozen.

The result is that the quality is pretty much the same no matter the source. There are some differences in the LCD types--easy to read on the box before you buy. Otherwise generally not too much difference. Same thing is true for consumer-grade audio gear.

I've had seven Vizio's in the last 15 years...

Still have four of them...two in my 5'ver.

My favorite brand of TV's!
