Gee I wonder if they're addressing the steps that sometimes don't open or close for minutes at a time or those that open while traveling down the road.

I guess we didn't need to know this since the Berkshires have a single step. Right?

I had my publicist prescreen that statement and got approval before posting. :-)

We got Ernest's blood pressure up for no reason.

We had the single step on ours and the same bolt broke once and was binding and noisy on the replacement one. Also had the smaller side bolts break. LCI changed our steps out to Kwikee steps in August as soon as they herd it operating. So far so go.

It appears the recall does not replace the steps. I think what is proposed is the install of a bracket to keep the fan gear in place when the bolt does break so the steps won't collapse underfoot. In other words a Band-Aid approach. May be different when final recommendation (fix) is published. Just an observation.

We're working on getting a sub forum- probably in the RV Industry news area-
for all RV related recalls. We're a little short on ADMINs in the back room due to holiday vacations etc....

The single. Step has some serious issues as well. I replaced my motor 4 times in 3 years. The last time, Lippert finally agreed to replace to entire step assembly ... this was only after pressure from Randy and hundreds in wasted maintenance cost.
