Looking to by 390FL-40/w4

We are looking to trade up to a DP. I have looked at so many(online) my eyes are shot. We have a Tiffin now and we really do like it. That said, they just don't make a DP with the floor plan we are looking for in our price range.

I found a Birkshire at a large dealership, Motor home Specialist, out of Texas. We are currently in South Dakota so before I make contact and a long trip I want to get some feed back. We are full-timers so floorplan, no carpet, house refreg and service are very important to us.

Anyone have feedback on the coach as well as the dealerships is greatly appreciated. Any pictures will also be helpful.

We love our 2011 Berkshire 390RB 40 that we purchased new just 6 weeks ago. We got a good deal on this 2011 leftover in New York but the Motor Home Specialist website was a big help as we watched many of their very informative youtube videos to become familiar with different models. If we didnt have the deal we wanted nearby I would have been in contact with MH Specialist in Texas to at least consider.
There are other brands with a bit better interior fit & finsh quality but I feel the Berkshire is the best value for the money. The others were way out of our price range and a lot to pay for just a little better interior. Without the Berkshire we would probably not have gotten a DP and are very happy we have ours.

We have a Berkshire 390bh which we have had for two years now. We use it mostly for long trips, but also do some local travels. We like the versatility and comfort. We also had looked at the Tiffin, but there were too many issues with Tiffin construction, engineering, and the dealer.

We love the unit. It's a bunk unit and we consistently travel with our 15 year old twins, and my wife's parents. Comfortable and reliable. As for dealers, I can't say enough good things about RV Direct. They have locations in Buffalo, Albany, Orlando, and Des Moines. They have been great on both price and service. I would definitely buy from them again. If you would like any contacts with them, PM me and I'll give you the contact info. Good folks with good deals.

We purchased our 2012 390BH-60 at the end of the season last year. The is our 3rd class A and our second DSL pusher. My comments are as follows.

After having a unit that would run on either gasoline or propane followed by 2 DSL pushers. I much prefer DSL. I find them much more economical to drive. They have much more range on one tank of fuel (over 100km). Pushers are much more stable on the road with much better stopping ability (flexability of air brakes and engine retarder). Very good towing power especially with the 360 turbo.

Overall impression of the Berkshire
Finish is not as good as my old Fleetwood Discovery or Triple E ... the price however is about $100K lower.
The overall layout works very well for us ... with lost of storage.
I prefer the tile floor to carpet for ease of keeping clean ... it is however very cold on the feet. We have chosen to use an area rug.
Basement storage is fantastic with the raised rail and sliding tray.
Full paint job is very easy to keep looking nice.
Water on demand works well but takes some getting used to.
Washer/dryer is a big plus with kids ... but does take an eternity.
Refrig. is very large and works well. I prefer this to the residential frig in many newer units (that large battery bank is very expensive to maintain)
I donot miss the oven since the convection MW works well.
Cupboard design must have been done as an after thought. There are a couple of cupboards that could actually be useful if an inch of two wider.

RV design and floorplan tends to be a very personal thing. If you like the look of it ... I would certainly recomment the Berk.
