Haven't stayed there, but I have heard it is nice.
Some other Louisiana Campgrounds you may want to consider are:

Cajun Palms RV Resort (cajunpalms.com) or
Poche's RV Park (pochesrvpark) (pronounced: PO-SHAY) both of these parks are in Breaux Bridge, La which is close to Lafayette, La. (right in the middle of Cajun Food Country!)
For a little closer to New Orleans (about 1 hour away) : off of I-12 coming from the Northern part of the State: Reunion Lake RV Resort (reunionlakerv.com) a very nice gated park, concrete sites, nicely spaced, clubhouse with bar and grill.
Or for an even closer to New Orleans park: Ponchartrain Landing RV Park (Ponchartrainlanding.com) is only about a 15-20 min drive into downtown New Orleans.
If money is no object and you want to be in the heart of the city: French Quarter RV Resort (fqrv.com) Like any big city, be careful if you stay in the downtown area.
I hope this info helps.

Hi Ernest,
I wish we could come join you. unfortunately our MH is still being used by my Aunt as temporary housing until they finish rebuilding her house. (Her home in Baton Rouge, La. was flooded back in August of this year.)
Have a wonderful time at Sam Houston Jones SP! Hopefully our paths will cross again sometime in the future.
Karen

Had a great 4 nights at Sam Rayburn Jones SP just north of Lake Charles off I-10... Two main camping areas - stay away from one of the camping areas tho... Terrible road around the sites there but the other one is super... It has the lower site numbers...

We stayed at site 53 and it was really nice.... Site 51 will be my site of choice next time tho....

Went into Lake Charles Friday night and ate at Steamboat Bill's - best Shrimp Etouffee I've ever had and wife had a huge Shrimp poboy that she said was fantastic (abt 2 doz shrimp in it).... Abt 6 miles from park....

Thanks for the heads up! We'll have to try Steamboat Bill's when we head for Orange Texas this winter.
