love seat

We just picked up our Berkshire a few months ago and the Love seat seems to be the worst couch I have ever sat on. I owned a 04 Monaco Knight that had the same setup with a full size couch on the driver’s side and a love seat on the passenger side and they were both very comfortable. The Love seat in the Berkshire seems to have a short seat on the bottom. Has anyone else noticed that the love seat is very uncomfortable?

Uncomfortable is being too kind. The love seat is basically useless. We are giving serious thought to taking it out and putting some more cabinets in that spot with some more counter space. It doesn't seem like it should be a big deal and I think it would be a fairly simple modification. We'll see as we try to get into it over the winter.

We use that seat mostly for the younger children when travelling. There is storage under the love seat that we use to store a lot of extra supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, and other paper goods.

We just picked up our 2011 Berkshire 360FWS with the love seat. Ours seems to be comfortable although I admit we have not used it much since the coach is new. We have the leather interior and the love seat folds out into a bed with an inflatable air mattress. There is no storage beneath.

I think yours is different than the 390. The 390 has a full couch with the air mattress that folds out into a queen bed, but the love seat doesn't fold out and has limited storage underneath it. I have short legs, but I still find the love seat to be uncomfortable because of the short seat and the stiffness of the cushions. Ours is also leather. The couch is very comfortable as is the rest of the coach, but that love seat is tough on the tush.

I'm planning on taking the loveseat out and putting in an L shaped workstation/desk area with some cabinets. One of my "down the road" projects.

Ours we find of no use either. We are waiting to hear back from forest River on whether or not we can remove it and have an additional passenger seat installed in the space so it would be a similar setup to a Georgie Boy. Basically 3 captains seats, 2 with electronics, 1 without. Everyone seems to love the passenger seat while we're traveling, so if we can have enough room to swivel it and your forward vision is not blocked too much when in transit, we may do it.

I doubt there is enough structure in the floor to bolt a seat to. Since the floor is a slide, there doesn't appear to be any metal framing underneath.

I haven't gotten underneath, I guess I assumed it would be the same structurally as the sofa on the other side, as that is also anchored to a slide. I'm hoping that, even if they can't anchor it for travel, I could still have it anchored for when we're parked. I'll let everyone know how it ends up.

Our love seat does not have seat belts which means that it is considered unsafe for highway travel.

Mine doesn't either, that's what FR is checking for me. Whether or not it can be modified for travel safely

I finally did it. I removed the small sofa and added a cabinet and counter with addition drawers and a storage cabinet I still need to locate a couple of bar stools. I also changed the cooktop and Andes a full stove with an oven. My wife likes to bake and we dry camp a lot so baking on the generator and not having the microwave while baking sucked.

How much of a job was it to get the old sofa out?

It took less than 5 mins to take the sofa out. There are only 4 bolts holding the sofa in. I had the cabinet pre made by one of my workers, then on Saturday i started at 8 am and was completely done and putting it back in storage by 10:30.

Took a lot less time than I thought it would

It will be really nice having more counter space and that "love seat" was only used for storage.
