Master power switch
Just serviced my coach batteries, 4 / 6 volt batteries, thought I would do it my self after I had them serviced at Camping world last Aug and the tech didn't secure the acid caps and the battery compartment was now corroding badly. Shut off the master power switch, removed and cleaned the batteries and slide out compartment. replaced the batteries and now my coach will not power up. Pushing and holding down the master switch the power light comes on and I can hear the coach power up but when I let up on the switch the light goes out and no power to the coach? Checked the breaker box and all is fine, any ideas?

I changed out all of my batteries at the start of the summer. Before removing cables and batteries I made sure to take detailed photos of all connection. I also used white hockey tape to join the ends of all adjoining cables.
I was more than a little scared of a possible arc when making the final connection. As luck would have it ... everything went much easier than expected.
I am sorry to hear of your problems. My only suggestion would be to double check all of your connection. Ensure that all polarities are correct and all connections are secure.
This may be a silly question but have you made sure that all three battery disconnect in battery compartment as well as the one inside the entry door are all set to the on position.

I can send you picture of the battery connections if you like.
As far as battery disconnects are concerned ... they are in the following places.
The one by the entry door ... I never use thus one since it is too far from the batteries and has too many phantom draws.
The three large red knows on the left hand wall of the battery compartment. A since one up top for the chassis batteries and two down below for the coach batteries..

Thanks Tim and Craig
I see from the photos that I had the two inside batteries turned the wrong way. The coach Powered right up and stayed on. Thank God I didn't blow it up. That was quite helpful and timely as well as I was getting geared up leave this afternoon for a quick golf weekend on the coast. Was just about ready to cancel my Tee times. You made my day,
Thanks again Guys.

Glad things worked out for you. Lucky you did not get hurt or do damage to your unit.
In order to get the best life out of your batteries. Ensure that water level remains at full mark. If you need to fill use distilled water. Before storing charge completely and use the 3 battery disconnect switches I mentioned earlier.
Enjoy your holiday

Ernest, Don't you know that you can fish with golf clubs? But you can't play golf with a fishing pole! Craig.

Just a note of warning that even with all shutoff switches thrown to off, the coach still has a small parasitic draw. In cold climates, even with full charge before disconnecting, the batteries will discharge, freeze and burst. I would recommend keeping plugged in or disconnecting and either placing on a separate trickle charger or store in a location that doesn't freeze.

Had this same problem with my 2008 Berkshire. Had to referb the battery bay every year it was so bad and lost the original hold down straps after the second year. Finally replaced the factory batteries and problem left with them. I do not know why the factory batteries acted as they did as they tested good with load tester and would take charge but the out gassing while charging was all full. I had even added vents to the battery bay but it did no good. Got new batteries from Sams Club.

Clean up the corrosion with some baking soda and water. After everything is cleaned up, get some Battery mats. They work very well and will absorb the gases that cause the corrosion. I put some mats on top of the batteries and on the sides.

Once all of your connections are clean and in place you might look into applying a battery terminal protector spray. It seals the connections and is really good at preventing corrosion.
