Mildew behind 3M tape
Is anyone else here experiencing mildew behind the 3M tape on the front end of their Berkshire?

I guess I'm drawing a blank. Where is the 3M tape of the front? Are you talking about the Diamond Shield?

I have an "08", so I doubt they would cover it. But it doesn't hurt to try.

I've read on another forum that the lifetime guarantee started a few years ago. Some earlier models are not covered under it. I am not sure what MY are included or excluded.

I saw it removed 100% without damage from a 8-10 year old Holiday Rambler DP. I could not believe they scraped it off, using chemical and slew of plastic scrapers. When they finished and polished the paint look like a new, beautiful paint job, not a single scratch. It was performed by Dazzling Detail out of Orlando, they worked campgrounds East and West sides of Florida. Spec. is HP water washing campers and Motorhomes. The front cap looked horrible with green growth, like new when done!

Vince do you know how much they charged to remove the DS? I have read that it can be quite expensive to remove it.

The owner was a friend but didn't want to divulge the exact price. He had the shied done along with a roof clean and reseal and the entire coach cleaned and waxed at the same time. He did tell me it was 1400 for the entire job so I'd estimate maybe 700-800 for the shield? They had 3-4 workers on it all day, stuff came off almost like large stamps. like 1" x 2" pieces, very labor intensive. Don't quote me on that is only my estimate. I thought a lot more when I first saw it. A friend of mine up here had the same problem, he tried cleaning a small area and immediate paint damage.

I read it was upwards of 700 to 800 bucks, which seems high, but like you said it is very labor intensive.

Last summer i had a panel on my generator slide replaced. The service guy met me at a camp ground in PA. It tooks about 2 hours to replace. He peeled the old one off using a heat gun and then applied the new film using water to get the bubbles out from behind the new film. He did a grest job and it was covered under the warranty. Great customer service and very accomodating tp meet me while we were on the road.
