I had a tire blow on my first camper. Changing that on the side of the road was a miserable experience. I'll pay for good tires from now on. Search this site for 'china bombs' and read the posts. You will see a lot of people mention 'Maxxis 8008'. Google that and read. No brainer in my book. Replaced what came on my second trailer with these after 4,000 miles.

Last Nov (14) two tire dealers told me not to drive on my existing tires - two were badly cracked and the other two had stretch marks. Date on the tires - Dec 13. Not even a year old. They were the tires that came with my new Rockwood 8282WS. Make was Open Range. Got authorization from Rockwood to replace tires to a value of $75 each as that is what they would pay an authorized dealer for tires. Needless to say, I upgraded the tires from 6 ply to 10 ply and slightly larger. On the tire dealer's (Discount) recommendation, I purchased Hercules tires, 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty. They cost $102 each installed and balanced. I have since put on 3,000 on them and they still look like the day I purchased them.

You do know this is the Berkshire forum not Rockwood. I need to get 6 tires all have cracks in the sidewall 2010 manufacture date. Any deals going on?

I haven't had to replace my tires yet. When I do I will shop the FMCA Michelin discount as I here that's the best deal.

Family Motor Coach Association. It's a club like Good Sam's but only for motor homes.

If you own a motor home I highly suggest joining. They have many benefits that come in handy. A nice magazine and excellent rally's.
