How did you deal with the portion of the floor in the bedroom that has to be removed to access the engine??? I'd love to see pictures of that if possible.....

The Allure cuts easily with a utility knife. I laid the Allure right up to the gap for the access panel. I covered the small gap with HD rubber carpet transition. It came out slick! Getting the panel out now for service can be done in a couple minutes. We are picking the motorhome up tomorrow for a three day to Santa Fe. I'll snap some pics with it open so you can see what I mean. I'll send you a link later in the week with more pictures than you'd ever want!

I'm sending along two links. One is to a Dropbox account, I've placed several pictures in there for you to look at. I'm also including a link to a web page I'm playing around with that has information on several upgrades I've done. It has some more specific detail to the flooring project.

While I would do it again in a heartbeat, it was a little tedious. There are a million carpet staples in your Berk. I took my time, about a week and I think the results show.

Sorry Ernest, I didn't answer your actual question. I'd say with the couple tools I purchased, I was in about $800. I purchased some real oak trim that was pretty expensive. The Allure was under $50 a box - as I recall 7 boxes with a few pieces left over. I did the entire coach MINUS the bathroom and shower area. You'll see in the pics. Yes - I ran lengthwise. I did the bedroom first - then the living room. The living room was a total breeze compared to the bedroom, mostly because its just a tight fit back there...

Ernest - you're too funny! I've seen some of your projects and your attention to detail. You'll knock it out of the park. The key, I think, is not being in a hurry. I did ours over the Winter - a weekend day here and there. Then in early Spring, when the temps were right, I put it all in.
