Actually, mine are velcro-ed to the bottom of my slide topper cover. I purposely use the Velcro (very light tack; not the super heavy duty stuff) so I could take them down when not using them.
The reason I did that is because after one year of my first set being up permanently, they were extremely yellowed. This diminished the brightness a LOT. A PITA having to take them down when not being used, but that's what I decided to do. I also keep them treated with 303 UV inhibitor.
As far as wiring, I just used the provided 120 to 12 volt transformer, stuck to the back of the slide where it overlaps the coach wall. The control box with the infrared receiver lays on top of the slideout under the topper. Then plug the transformer into a 120 socket that is live when running on inverter.
