I finally installed the new 50 amp plug, off of the 100 amp panel, and she looks happy in her new home. Put the pole barn up last year (40 x 48, with a 14 x 14 door) in anticipation of this purchase.

Cool setup Scokat. Now the local tax assessor will come calling with an increase in our wonderful Western NY real estate taxes.

As a suggestion, you might want to consider a plastic vapor barrier over the gravel. I store mine with a plastic vapor barrier under the entire rig and Advantech under each wheel. It may be overkill, but so far we have no issues.

I'm going to pour concrete soon, do you still put plastic under the rv on concrete? and what is advantech?

I have a similar setup at my place but I'm only using the 15amp wall jacks currently. Was it an existing 100 amp panel that you added a 50 amp to or was it there from the start since you planned on having an RV stored there? If it was an add-on, what was the process for adding the 50 amp service off the 100 amp panel?

I am also wondering about the vapor barrier with concrete flooring. I live in a dry climate so I haven't really been concerned with it before.

We do put the plastic on the concrete. There is usually a certain amount of moisture coming out of the concrete so it helps. Advantech is a plywood like product that we put under the tires. It is my understanding that parking a vehicle on concrete, gravel, or blacktop for extended periods of time can damage the tires.

I just went to Home Depot and bought some black plastic/rubber runner that I have under the tires. I think that this is sufficient to keep anything from affecting the tires. I had an old Winnebagi class C that I had in my drive way for 20 years and only replaced some of the tires. The tires held up well without taking all of these precautions.

it was an existing 100 amp for the barn, i only had lights and outlets so I had plenty of room. I had the wire laying around, so I just bought a 50 amp box at home depot, $26, and i was good to go. I had the electrical conduit pvc to run the wire through so i just put up the conduit, pulled the wire and connected both ends.
