New Tires Already!?!!?
We have had our 2011 since may of 2011. It has @ 9500 miles on it and our front passenger tire tread is worn already. Has anyone experienced this at such low mileage and what would cause this so prematurely? The price we have gotten on the new tires is $875/per tire....OUCH!!!

No way it's $875 per tire - you may wish to verify this.

Oh, a Berkshire....I was thinking along the lines of a travel trailer. I was in the wrong field on this one.

Of course these prices don't include mounting, balance, and alignment.

I'm also thinking the original tires should have lasted more than 9500 miles...if the alignment was off would we have any warning other then the premature wear? It seems to handle fine on the road....no pulling to either side.
Thank you for the price sheet....very helpful.

On rigs of that size I'm not sure you'd feel it like you would on a small car. I would expect it to pull though. At any rate, I think your wear is premature. Who could afford all new tires every 9000 miles? Jeesh.
As for the chart, all I did was do an Internet search for your tire size. You might find lower prices with which to "negotiate" with the place that quoted you $875.

We have close to 8500 miles on our 2011 390bh we bought new. All the tires still look new - front and rear. You may have an alignment issue or something else going on. Maybe look at your warranty to see if it could contribute to new tires.
BTW. My store is next to a Love's truck stop. I know some of the tire guys and the tires that fit our rigs will be close to $4-450 per tire. $800+ sounds WAY to much.

I would try to contact the tire manufacture. They might be able to prorate the tire. It the alignment was off then you would be out of luck. But if the tire ware is premature then they might be able to help you out.

I have 2010 390bh and at 15k tires look new. Do all of the other tires show wear? If not, its an allignment or faulty tire issue.

First off NEVER skimp on STEERING TIRES!!!
That said, in NO WAY should a tire for a large motorcoach cost $875.00!!
Do some research through a reputable TRUCK TIRE shop locally if you can-I'm thinking more in the range of may be $400-500 for a top rated tire, I'm thinking you priced the $875.00 one at a typical camper repair place where they nearly double the prices comonly found at a truck tire shop.
ALSO if you have one front tire wearing like this then you have an allignment or steering system problem that needs to be corrected.
Here is a Michelin tire I found by Googling: http://simpletire.com/michelin-255-8...FUWQ7Qod70xk7w

Perhaps this old post may help: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...html#post34591
You may want to contact Forest River to see if they will contribute to your new tire(s) and also an alignment

I agree with you – should have gotten more than 9500 miles. The wear you’re experiencing is possibly being caused by another component. I would investigate for the root cause of premature wear to prevent reoccurrence. I would start with your RV dealer because of warranty and they probably perform tire service. Yes, tires on those RV busses are the types used on 18-wheelers and other large commercial vehicles and yes, they are expensive.
I would maintain very good records (service receipts, maintenance records, and notes with pertinent information) in the event this is a reoccurring problem.

Replacement tires
We currently drive a 390bh. This is the first brand new class A that we have owed. Our other two were each 6 or more years old when we purchased them ... each of them having original tires with more than 15 thousand miles. In each case the treads looked like new and replacement was dure to the deterioration of sidewall (sun cracking). A reminder to all of us that spending $100 on a set of wheel covers is well worth the money.
We replaced all 6 tires on our old Fleetwood Discovery about 18 months ago with a top line set of Michelins. Installed price for teh set of six was in the area of $2400cdn from Kaltire.
I would agree with all of the other posts ... your wear was very premature. Do you check tire pressure every day before you travel? Incorrect tire inflation is not only very dangerous but can also lead to premature wear.
Tire inflation is very easy in the berkshire since we have an airhose coupling in the front compartment.

Ok.....here's an update on the tire issue. What we've learned thus far is Bridgestone makes a "direct replacement" for the Michelins. The tires are 265 75R 22.5. We had a garage full of mechanics also agreeing that this would be an acceptable substitute. Evidently, the Michelin tire size is European standard as opposed to US standard with the Bridgestones. We are in agreement that we don't want to at all scrimp on the tires especially when it comes to steering the bus. If anyone has any thoughts or comments, we would appreciate it.
Following is the info from Bridgestone:
